A post in whence I briefly recap the latest goings-on in my life.
Watched: I have finally been watching the seventh and final season of Riverdale now that it’s on Netflix. I am one of the few people who has stuck with this show all the way through, from the fantastic first season to some of the godawful musical episodes. The final season is, in my humble opinion, one of the best in a while. I am so glad to see this show ending on a high note. I am also low-key sad that the warehouse sale where they sold all their costumes from the show was in Vancouver so I couldn’t go. I would have loved to buy some Cheryl fits.
Read: I finished reading the third book in the Anne of Green Gables series. This is a quaint series that I never read when I was younger and am now making my way through. I want to watch the “Anne with an E” show on Netflix after I finish the books. Ironically, we went to a taping of The Price is Right this week and the couple in line behind us had custom shirts that said “The Price is Right — Prince Edward Island Canada” (where the books take place).
Did: As mentioned above, I attended a taping of The Price is Right. This was an interesting experience, especially since I had not seen the show prior to attending. Nobody in our group got picked (aka called to “come on down”, but it was exciting nevertheless to watch people win trips to exotic destinations like Belize, Vietnam, and New Hampshire (apparently to play tennis). One thing I was not prepared for was how long the taping would be- all in all, we were there for six hours. I was thoroughly exhausted of clapping by the end.
Made: I made this pumpkin pasta in parmesan cream sauce. It contains a 4:1 ratio of roasted squash to pasta, plus kale, so I consider it to be a hybrid pasta/salad (different from pasta salad). Very good and something I have been making for a few years. I consider it the perfect fall meal.
Bought: I bought this Vans puffer jacket from ban.do because I had to return a pair of pajamas I bought from them and felt like I deserved a treat (would the kids call this girl logic?). It gets surprisingly cold in LA in the winter and I got a lot of use out of my Patagonia puffer last winter so I thought this would be a good jacket to add into the rotation.
